Pro-Life: Weekly Update – May 21, 2010

Dear Friends of Life,

Occasionally some questions arise regarding a particular institution and whether they support ethical practices in accord with consistent Catholic teaching. Sometimes it is difficult to determine beyond a doubt whether a particular institution might be funding unethical practices. When we can objectively verify such a practice, the Life Office will try to keep you informed. Therefore, a question arose regarding the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and whether they fund Embryonic Stem Cell Research. The answer to this question is that they do fund Embryonic Stem Cell Research which is considered unethical in that it requires the destruction of a human life. Please refer to the attached document which comes from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Blood Drive Help Urgently Needed!

Blood DriveWe need one or two Knights who can work the blood drive sign-in table from 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM this Saturday, 9/26 in Zuker Hall.  If one Knight can be found to work all 5 hours, that would be wonderful, and that’s all we need.  But, if one such person isn’t available, we’ll take two who are willing to work 2 1/2 hours apiece.  We are expecting a record turnout, and we simply can’t handle the crowd without more help.  Please volunteer to Darrell Hutton at 630-961-0526 or
