Football Mania!

Brother Knights,

We will soon be entering the last week of Football Mania!  Have you been able to sell your tickets yet?  Remember that the Knights will directly get the lion’s share of any $20 ticket that you are able to sell to family, friends or that you purchase yourself.

If you need more tickets, please let me know by e-mailing me at footballmaniatickets@gmail.com

If you have tickets that you have sold, remember that the sale is no good unless I enter it into our system. Make sure you get the purchaser’s information and money to me as soon as possible!!!  Tickets can be dropped off at the Law Offices of Edward P. Graham during normal business hours, or you can give them to me at the next Knights meeting on September 7.  If you have sold five or more tickets and live in the general  viscinity, I will award you by offering to pick them up personally after hours – e-mail me (footballmaniatickets@gmail.com) and I will arrange to do so.

FINALLY, we need people to help this weekend to sell tickets outside of Mass – particularly at 9:30 and 11:00am, when I cannot be in two locations at once.  Again, e-mail me with the Mass you attend if you go to SSPP and let me know that I can count on you to be there.

Vivat Jesu!

Images of Life – Fundraising Dinner

Please consider attending this important life saving fundraiser — Saturday, June 19th.  We would like to see several 1369 tables present.

Attached is the flyer covering the ultra sound fundraiser hosted at St Raphael.  All funds go to the purchase of one of these life saving machines.

Columbia Magazine reported in January that at one center 90% of woman who opted for the ultrasound chose life. We are trying to sell tables of 8 at $50 per plate with about half a donation.

Fr Milota will be attending with a few other speakers. It has the making of a good evening.

Download the flyer here.

Ladies Auxiliary Garage Sale

The Ladies will be having a garage sale in May with only Books, CDs and DVDs.

Please see if perhaps you or any of your friends or family may have any of these items you would like to donate.

Contact the Ladies Auxillary to arrange pick up of collected items.

Help Needed for Carson’s Days

Please arrive about 15 minutes ahead of time.

Thanks in advance for your help and please contact Michael Gach if you can help out.

2009 Tootsie Roll Drive Results!

All the deposits are in the bank and we had a very successful Tootsie Roll Drive. We will definitely be able to help our client organizations in a great way.

The keys to success

1. The Novena requested of Father Milota at our Sept. Knights meeting for good weather was a huge success; prayers answered. Perfect weather.

Thanks Father!

2. More feet on the street! This year we had record breaking numbers of volunteers, over 140 volunteers, some that hadn’t been active in the Knights for years and said “thanks for calling me, I need to get more involved”. This amounted to roughly 400 volunteer hours put in by these folks being on the street and working the hall counting money. I know my brother Knights and I met a lot more people that we had not known before and hopefully built some new acquaintances.

Thanks Brother Knights and also Thanks to my support committee/captains – Terry Ross, Larry Pociask, and Al Knoeck.

3. Great support from the Religious Ed teens. Over 27 teens volunteered to help us out; wow!

Thanks Theresa Pratt!

4. Scouts came out in “packs”!! :) With a very short leadtime due to packs not being finalized yet, we had 8 Scouts come out to help and some did double shifts, great job Scouts.

Thanks Liz Zurek!

5. More locations. This year we had 15 locations that we worked and already planning on more for next year!!! Can you say Farmers Market?? Naperville Saturday Football games??

6. A web magician that put signups on the website and next year is planning an auto signup with reminders.

Thanks Dan Parker!

7. Advertising and phonathon support from our bulletin staff and also meeting room staff.

Thanks Gloria Villasenor and Mary Werner!

8. Thanks to the volunteers at Special Needs Camp who sent 4 Camp youth counselors and also to Western DuPage Special Rec Activities who sent 12 young adults with learning challenges to help us work two of our store locations (I will provide thanks to them via postal mailing). It was great to meet them and they are the reason we do our drive. I know I have a much greater appreciation for the drive and what it is about as a result of being with them and working the drive with them.

All the keys added up to a new record collection for national and local charities!

Thanks again to all for a great drive and also to God for His generosity upon those that will receive the blessings of our work.
